On 04 December 2024, Marina Cyrino and Matthias Koole, on vacation and arriving by plane from Berlin, joined Henrique Iwao, who, after a bus trip from Belo Horizonte, met them and Mário Del Nunzio in São Paulo at Local Sem Nome ('place without a name'), also known as Contrato Social Espaço & Bar ('social contract space and bar') and sometimes called Bar do Marião.

They decided to do an improvised music show, choosing to organize the night in two parts, each divided in two, totaling 4 improvisations. Del Nunzio suggested that they play in the four different possible trio formations, and thought it fitting to go against the common sense that would say: friends, let's play together.

With this combination, in which each musician would play three times and twice with each of the others, he honored the noble post-serialist tradition in which he was formed. Iwao then volunteered to propose that before each improvisation, a name be drawn. To be the one drawn, as is made explicit in the track titles, would be offered the opportunity to listen to the music together with the audience. Invited to step off the stage, they would sit on the bench and wait as a substitute.

The trio, blessed by the absence of the one drawn, would then make a simple homage to them, as if saying: Get lost! Out! You’re expelled, eliminated! For much is said in philosophy of the presence of absence, and our four trios attest to this: When _ [insert chosen name] is not here, everything gets better.
